SEASONAL WEIGHT LIMITS Jan. 15th – April 14th
January 15th starts the 90 day seasonal weight limits on County Highways. The process for permits will be the same as last year. Anyone requesting to haul legal loads during this period must fill out, sign, and fax or bring in the completed permit form to the County Highway Dept. office at 204 S. Western Ave. in Macomb, where we will sign it, put a control number on it, and give you a paper copy that you need to carry in the vehicle. I will indicate which days the weight limits are in effect, and which days they are lifted, on the calendar on our website, and will follow up with a notification by email to everyone on our permit list. It is important to include your email address on your permit application if you want to be notified by email. The State Police want to see a paper copy of the email notification along with the permit when you are hauling. Last year we issued over 250 of these limited continuous permits. - OverSize/ Over Weight/Seasonal Weight Permit - The 90 day seasonal weight limits on County roads go into effect on January 15th. Each vehicle must have a permit on board, along with a printed copy of an email sent from the Highway Department verifying the allowable haul dates. To obtain a permit and get on the email list, fill out the permit form and check the box for “limited continuous”(type of permit), listing your email address. The allowable haul dates are posted on the calendar below. Do not fill in the “gross weight” box for more than 73,280lbs. The Illinois State Police will require possession of a printed copy of this email verification to accompany the permit form to avoid getting a ticket.
